Dak Prescott’s late mother, Peggy, instilled in him the moral compass that continues to guide him today. He lives his life by the three words of encouragement she often spoke: Faith. Fight. Finish.
Because of the loss he has experienced, Dak’s empathy and ability to connect deeply and genuinely with people is at the core of his charitable work. He has embraced the responsibility of giving back well beyond what’s expected or required of him, and is on a mission to share his mother’s unwavering strength and courage with the world. Dak’s mom taught him to always put Mind Over Matter and do the best you can with the cards you’re dealt, and it’s a lesson he intends to keep paying forward through Faith Fight Finish.
“Losing my mom and watching her fight motivated me. As much as I can raise awareness and educate people on how to get ahead of cancer, showing how to make your adversity your inspiration is probably the most significant goal,” says Dak. “It’s about how to face adversity and use it to make you a better person, to think positively and take the better path because of it.”
Faith Fight Finish invests in the future of our youth by empowering individuals, families, and communities to find strength through adversity. The foundation focuses on fighting cancer and offering assistance to those facing life-challenging hardships; in honor of Dak’s Mom, Peggy!
“It’s a blessing to have this platform,” Dak shares. “To be at this stage, at this position in my life to be able to connect and interact with so many people, so many kids, and so many people with disadvantages. There are so many families that need help and just need loving and a smile. And I’ve accepted it. It’s a big responsibility, but I love it.”
It’s been four years since Dak lost his mother to cancer, but her influence and inspiration live on through Faith Fight Finish. The most exciting part may be just how far the message can spread as his star continues to rise!
